Firstly, thank you to everyone (who sent one) for my birthday cards and presents. I had an enjoyable day on Monday, flying around south Wales (well, only part of it, and only for an hour...). Also went down the pub on Friday to celebrate.

The pictures from my birthday should be online soon, but there was another event this week that jumped the queue. More on that later.

Well, we finally got broadband, so if you was wondering where all these new sections were coming from, that's the reason. They've been waiting on my laptop to be published for ages, and I dropped them on the server in one big go on Wednesday or Thursday to test the connection. I was very impressed!

So after my birthday, Tuesday saw me heading down to Cardiff in the evening to watch Doctor Who being filmed down on The Hayes, outside Howells again (for those of you that know where that is!). There are pictures under the new section heading to the left: Stalking. I have now joined the ranks of Tom Parsons MSC (Master of Stalking Celebrities)'s stalking army, with the rank of "hardcore stalker". That's what staying out til 2am gets you. Not wimpy 10:45pm, like some people (Spinner)... We're hoping to go and watch them film again, Tom is determined to get David Tennant's autograph - he is so far proving quite elusive, even for someone of Tom's talents...

Well, I finished reading the new Harry Potter book (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) this morning. It's a good book, and for once, the big fight scene at the end doesn't focus around Harry. It introduces a few new characters, and sets up the final book quite nicely.

I'm still applying for jobs, but not getting very far. I'm filling out one that I feel quite confident about, since I tick all the boxes they are looking for - 2 years .NET development experience, legislative knowledge, etc.

There's a bloody motocross event being held a bit further up the mountain from me today, so there are loads of cars coming past - and when they come down, they aren't slowing for the corner...I see an insurance job coming up ;-)

So, graduation on Tuesday afternoon. I'll be up there from 12ish, get my gown, hat and hood. I then have to get my photos arranged, since it wouldn't take my card online, despite my phoning the bank helpline to double-check the information I was putting in was right. It was, but their website doesn't think so. Then the ceremony is from 2 o'clock, probably lasting around 2 hours, then there's the buffet afterwards. Then I take my robes back, head home, get changed, maybe a quick bite to eat, then back out to celebrate with Tom, Rachel and anyone else who wants to join us - some people still haven't replied to my texts...

I've finished sorting out my music, now I have to sort out my DVD list...

Well, I've been meaning to put up a post since I got back from Edinburgh (and London), but one thing or another has kept popping up and stopping me...Usually my inability to actually sit down and write it all down. I've finished the 'Edinburgh story', just got to write the 'London story' to go with it.

Well, the purpose of this post (other than saying the Edinburgh and London stories are in production) was to announce my results:

I got a 2:1 honours degree!!!

Meaning I am now, officially, Ryan Perry, BSc (Hons).

I would like to thank my family, my friends, my pets...I'm not one for speeches, unless they are on the subject of M-Learning in the Classroom - then I could talk for hours! (Well, not hours, but probably at least 30 minutes)...

My laptop decided it wanted a little holiday the other day, and so off it went to PC World for some problem solving. Expecting it to be away for a couple of weeks, I dusted off the desktop PC thats still taking up room on my desk, and started using that. Imagine my suprise when PC World phoned the next day to say the laptop was ready to be picked up - just a lot of static in the battery, not a hard-disk problem as I thought originally.

I've been applying for quite a few jobs...Newport and Gwent Enterprise decided to turn me down, and made me pay for the pleasure of that - they sent a rejection letter without a stamp, and with me not knowing if it was asking for me to attend an interview or not, I had to pay. I wasn't a happy camper that day. I recently applied to south Wales Police - they have an opening for on the ICT helpdesk. Lovely long 10 page application form, and no CVs. Also got one or two others in the pipeline, but not going to say anything as they haven't all closed yet, and I don't want to create unnecessary competition - as you can see from my result above, I'm not stupid... ;-)

Right, better get back to sorting out my music. The Edinburgh and London stories should be up soon!

Well, it's been a while since I last posted. Plenty to talk about now though!

I have now, techically, finished university. For good. Graduation ceremony is on July 19th, but that's just a formality...So I'm now a-hunting for jobs! Getting newspapers for the jobs section, and will be applying tomorrow for one if I can't find anything better, and a little closer to home. It's not a bad job, just a bit far away - over in Newport city centre...'Spose I could call into see Rob on the way home...

mmm, pizza...Sorry, where was I? Ah yes, discussing jobs...There's a graduate careers fair down in Earls Court next Wednesday that I'm going to. Except the free bus thats going leaves Cardiff at 7:30am, meaning I'm going to have to leave the house at 6ish...Not my idea of what the mornings are for - getting up at 5:30am to get on a bus for 4 hours...Look out for me in London Tracy! ;-)

Since I finished my exams last Tuesday, I took the liberty of organising a get-together to celebrate. Even Mr. Parry turned up! A good night was had by all, even Rob, who left at not long after 9ish, Tom, who left at 11ish, and Rachel and Karen (and Kelly turned up later), who left around 11:30ish...the lightweights..

And this weekend I'm off up to Edinburgh for a weekend - was originally for Chris & Suz's engagement party, but now I understand there's also a party for Jack (I think it lost something in the relaying from Rose to Hannah to me...). So I'm flying up early Saturday morning, and flying back Monday evening. Meaning I'm hardly in work over the next few days: off Saturday and Monday, in Tuesday, off Wednesday...

Oh yeah, I was uploading my CV to my web site (it's on here somewhere, just not accessible to you rabble...) and I've finally discovered why I couldn't access my ftp-webserver from home: McAfee Guardian decided to block it :-D. Not one of the biggest problems I've had with Guardian, but one of the more annoying..

Right, back to the job-hunting...Or possibly SWAT4...

Afternoon all.

Just handed in my milestone 3 report...What a relief! 73 pages of milestone 3, plus 37 pages of milestones 1 & 2. Cheaper then the repo room in uni as well - they were charging £21-odd for each copy, I had mine done by a place in bridgend called Kall Kwik, who charged me the princely sum of just over £30 for all six docs printed & bound. Pays to shop around!

Also, belated happy birthday to Gavin for yesterday, was slightly busy yesterday, otherwise would have sent him an email then.

Right, yesterday...travelled well over 200 miles, probs over 250 miles. First thing, went down to Cartridge World, down in Bridgend, to get my printer cartridges refilled. This was because Kall Kwik said when they printed the doc, it may not be as I intended because of "re-flow". So, I printed the first copy, then they photocopied it twice to get the other two copies. Don't worry Mr Shaddick, your picture is still in colour!

So, came back from Cartridge World by 9.45am, installed the cartridge, done an alignment, all seemed okay, so told it to print the first 20 pages of the document. Then mam asked me to pop down the shop to get something, so I left it alone.

Got back, went upstairs to the printer, and found white lines across the black...great! Just what I wanted. By then, it was cutting it a bit fine for my other task that day, so I decided to go to Bridgend for Cartridge World on the way to the second destination.

Went there, they changed the cartridge for me, not too much bother. Then, back in the car, and off to Bristol! an hour each way, plus half an hour for the pizza hut we had there. Mam and Hannah were going to see Chicago in the Bristol Hippodrome, and some how I had managed to get roped into driving them there and back. Except I had to do my lev3 report, so that meant I had to drive them there, come back, then go back to pick them up at 10pm and then drive back again. I was quite knackered by the end fo the day.

And I had to get my report to the printers before they closed yesterday, got there 10 mins before. Good timing!

Oh, and just before I go, good luck to Laura for her GCSE P.E. practical exam this morning - you'll already have finsihed it by the time I write this, but thats the way the cookie crumbles...
