Well, I had to laugh in the Law Society sponsored (see previous thread below) E-Commerce lecture.. We had a coursework hand-in today, for which we had to evaluate three e-commerce organisations (as those who regularly read my blog wil know). The women infront of me were discussing this (I find not the best thing to do, since you haven't got a snowball in hell's chance of changing it that close to the hand in time), and one of them was showing the other two her website evaluation framework.
This is where it got nigh-on impossible for me not to laugh. One of the women (the one who keeps interrupting my meeting with Phil each week) gasped and said "Wooooooooooow!". IT'S A BLOODY TABLE, WITH A COUPLE OF NUMBERS FILLED IN! THE WAY SHE WAS TALKING, YOU'D THINK IT WAS THE DESIGNS FOR NASA'S NEXT SPACE SHUTTLE. Bloody woman. I mean, to get that excited over a table?
Oh, and Dave was having trouble with his powerpoint presentation - he brought one that was out of date, and so had to keep switching off the projector to "stop us getting confused" - more like him getting confused...

Well, its been a quiet few days on the blogging front..But now, I've redesigned the blog page (I thought the other one was getting a bit full), so its got a list of pages along the top, and the posts will come up (5 per page) under the black separator line
I've also added a stories section, and the opening story is courtesy of Ben Wayland, and it is called 24Chat - see the stories section for more info.
I've finally finished my E-Commerce coursework, hand in today, and next priority is doing the E-Learning coursework, hand in Friday, which isnt quite finished yet (coe to think of it, it isn't quite started yet, either). Also, need to get onto John Hanlon about Visual Studio 6, I need it desperately for my project
Right, better get on with some work..Lots to do!

Well, I've just come back from my E-Commerce lecture, followed by lunch . I've got a hunch that Dave Farthing is on commission from the Law Society, since we've been doing E-Commerce law for 2 weeks now, and at the beginning of each lecture he says:
What you see here is only a summary to introduce the concepts. You should not rely on it to build a legal case or safeguard your legal position. Seek professional advice before acting on what you read here
The lecture raised quite a few points for me, many of which I can't actually remember now that I've eaten. But it was all legal stuff, which I am actually getting into now - its quite interesting, since computer law in many areas is quite "gray", its quite open to interpretation - e.g. if you steal a copyrighted picture from an American site, hosted in China, and you're in Britain, whose copyright law applies? American, Chinese or British? This means that there will be no "correct" answers in the end of year exam. :-D
Anyhow, I went to the Gallery for lunch after the lecture, and firstly, there wasn't any knives. I asked for some, and they didn't even have any in the dishwasher. How the hell am I supposed to cut my sausages without a bloody knife? Secondly, as I was getting up to leave, a bloke sitting on the table next to mine looked up as I got up, and nodded. I've never seen this bloke before in my life! So why the hell is he nodding at me?
I also popped into Blackwells on my way back to a lab, and bought one of them expanding folder thingys. I'm fed up with all my work getting mixed up in my bag, plus I wont need to cart around the bag anymore, just a little folder.
And to cap it all, John Hanlon hasn't emailed back yet. Not that I'm surprised, he needs someone to pop up to his office and say "I've sent you an email" for him to reply to an email... And he's a computing teacher!

Bloody hell, it's cold outside!
Right, first, Mam went out on Friday night for her birthday, and when she came back, she couldn't even stand up straight. Take this for an example: She sat down on the toilet, and promptly fell head-first into the bath...
Saturday night out was good, I'm waiting for Spinner to post his pictures on his web site, when he does I shall promptly steal them, put better captions on them and put them on here. Its about time I had a pictures section...
As usual, any ideas on how to wind up Jess to the usual address: windupJess@ryanperry.co.uk

Tomorrow night I'm out in Cardiff, with Craig, Tom, Jason, Chris, Rachel, Karen, Gavin, and some other people who I don't know (!). Should be a good night, I'm kipping over Craig's, then coming back Sunday morning. So I shall report back on Sunday some time..
